Ulster hockey call for Naomi

NAOMI Harkness from Ballymena, is one of nine Ulster girls named in the Irish Under 18 Squad, for the European Under 18 Youth Championships, to be held in Dublin at the end of July.

Ireland, are currently seeded fourth in Europe and will be looking to consolidate this position, especially as they have home advantage in this years competition.

In their Pool matches the Irish girls will face the Netherlands, France and Wales and depending on results will then play a team from Pool 2 to advance further or to determine their seeding for next year.

Seventeen-year-old Naomi, who is an Upper Sixth at Methodist College, Belfast is a former pupil of Cambridge House Grammar School and plays club hockey for Randalstown Ladies 1st XI.

She was a member of the Ulster Under 16 Team who won the Interprovincial title in 2010 and this season played for the Ulster Under 18 team who won the Interprovincial Title in October 2012.
