Ulster veterans’ tennis honour for Fergus

BALLYMENA Lawn Tennis Club were honoured to have Fergus Barklie playing again this year as the Captain of the 75s team which contributed to the over all success of the Ulster team which won the Championships this past weekend.

Other players from Ballymena in the Ulster squad were Jimmy Wilson and Brian Bailie who are now members of Belfast clubs.

Ballymena Lawn Tennis Club, supported highly by the Ballymena Council, would like to announce that there is constant Junior and Senior play 50 weeks of the year and all new members are welcome. Just turn up at the courts in The Peoples Park and have some free tennis before you join.

Seniors Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7 pm to 9 pm and Saturday mornings 10.30 until 1 pm

Juniors Friday evenings 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm for 4 to 10 year olds and 7.30 to 9 pm 11 to 17 year olds.

Coaching is available for all ages Juniors and seniors in squads or individual lessons by our squad of coaches.

The club is also looking forward to its Jubilee Junior Tennis Week, which will run each morning from August 6-10 (10am until noon). Interested parties are urged to get their applications in as soon as possible.
