Under 13s win Banogue Cup

WARINGSTOWN Under 13s lifted the Banogue Cup at Stormont last week after a comfortable 47 run victory over CSNI.

Batting first on a damp pitch, the villagers got off to a steady start against some tight CSNI bowling.

Waringstown captain Adam Dennison led the way with a dominant 59 and was supported by Matthew Hurst and Sam Wilson as they posted a respectable 94 for six in their allotted 20 overs.

In reply the CSNI batters were immediately under the cosh against some excellent bowling. Wilson claimed superb figures of three for five from his four overs. There were also wickets for James Mitchell and Hurst while Stefan Heyburn and Dennison both bowled economically.

CSN managed only 47 for eight in their 20 overs with two excellent run-outs thrown in for good measure.

Waringstown captain and man of the match Dennison lifted the trophy from NCU president Dr Murray Power and the villagers now move into the All-Ireland final which will be played at The Lawn in the next couple of weeks against either Donemana or North County.
