With 10 minutes gone Coleraine took the lead with a well worked goal. This was the wakeup call that the lads needed and they settled down and started playing some good football.

With 20 minutes on the clock Slane got their equaliser. Matthew Ervine played in Curtis Gibson, the Coleraine keeper came out and Curtis lobbed him and the ball nestled in the net.

Slane now had their tails up and could have had a couple more but the shots were going the wrong side of the wood work.

The second half got under way with Slane attacking the Coleraine goal and Curtis Gibson hit a shot just over the bar.

On 39 minutes Slane took the lead when Matthew Ervine floated in a corner and there was Kyle Murray who replaced Andrew Neill at half time to bundle the ball into the net.

Slane were now getting the upper hand on Coleraine and should have added more goals. Firstly Steven Adair hit the woodwork with a wonder strike, Curtis Gibson hit the woodwork with a lethal shot and then Curtis fired one just past the post.

Then a lapse of concentration at the back and a rush challenge by the Slane keeper earned Coleraine a penalty which they slotted away.

Slane were still the better team and again the woodwork came to Coleraine's rescue with Curtis Gibson lobbed the keeper only to see it hit the crossbar.

The Coleraine pulled of a great save when it looked like Curtis had scored the winner.

Slane were awarded the three points later that day as Coleraine failed to show their ID cards. The management would like to praise the ref for a great game, and also to the lads for such a good performance on the day. Best for Slane on the day were Matthew Ervine and Adam Gibson.
