United go back to league action

IT'S back to the Labrokes.com Championship this weekend as they make the journey over the mountain to play Ballymoney United.

The 'Toon' are currently tenth in the Championship having fourteen points from their twelve games, eleven points behind the Roesiders.

They have scored sixteen goals in their twelve games and have conceded a similar amount and are the league's draw specialists.

In fact the previous encounter this season at the Showgrounds ended in a two all draw with Martin Cutmore and Shane Jennings on target for United.

Ballymoney's form recently has been good and they took Premiership outfit Institute to a replay in the JJB Sports Irish Cup.

They have won four of their last six games with the only defeat the replay against Institute and they defeated Wakehurst by the odd goal in three last weekend.

Roesiders boss Oran Kearney knows that his side will have to be at their best if they want to get all three points against Joe McCall's side.

"Ballymoney United will certainly be well organised and I know that they will be tough to break down.

"They proved that in the previous league game that we played earlier in the season and I don't expect anything different this time around.

"Joe always makes sure that his teams are hard to beat and that's exactly what I am expecting from him this time around.

"That said we are playing some excellent football at the minute and I'm confident no matter who the opposition is at the minute.

The big pitch at the Riada stadium should suit us perfectly as well and I have no doubts that we can go there and get a result.

"We are scoring goals for fun at the moment and have been tight at the back and hopefully that can continue this weekend," said Kearney.

Going into the game United will be without Stephen Lowry after he signed for North West neighbours Coleraine at the weekend.

Trevor Hutchinson is unlikely to be available for selection as he is still suffering from a wrist injury.

Lee Patrick should be fully fit as well after he didn't take any part in last weekend's game against Albert Foundry in the WKD Intermediate Cup.
