United’s cup appeal rejected

BALLYMENA United’s appeal against exclusion from the Irish Cup has failed.

The independent arbitration panel have made the decision to dismiss the appeal regarding the eligibility of Alan Davidson to play in the Irish Cup Quarter Final against Newry City FC.

Newry City will now play Linfield in the semi-final.

A statement on the club’s website said: “Naturally the club is very disappointed with the decision but we accept and respect the findings of the panel and now consider the matter to be closed.”
