Unlucky not to get the three points

North Belfast 2

Sunnyside U12s 2

SUNNYSIDE U12s made the trip to Wallace Park to take on a strong North Belfast team knowing that they had to get something from the game to stay up with the big guns.

From the first whistle Sunnyside dominated possession and the forward two of McCluskey and Lynch were terrorizing their defence.

The defence of Doran, Lenaghan, O'Neill and Geraghty were dealing with any attacks from the opposition and McKee and Hatchell were dominating in the middle of the park.

Sunnyside had a number of chances but it wasn't until near the end of the first half that a good run from defence from Geraghty led to McCluskey scoring his first of two goals to put his team 1-0 going into the break.

In the second half Sunnyside went to sleep and let North Belfast score two goals and this seemed to lift them and again Sunnyside were on top and a good run from Ciaran Mackin led to McCluskey getting his second goal to leave it 2-2.

Sunnyside had a number of chances but just couldn't find the net and the match ended in a draw.

They play Ballymena next week in the shield and know they must take their chances if they want to progress. Man of the match went to McCluskey.
