Venue change for Centenary Shield International

DUE to the Irish Cup semi final between Linfield and Coleraine being put back to April 17 the Centenary Shield international against Wales will now be played at Windsor Park this Friday (kick off 7.00 pm).

Northern Ireland Schools FA Chairman, Stephen Blevins, thanked Glentoran for the effort that they had put into organising the game.

“I would like to thank Glentoran and many community groups in East Belfast for the effort that they have put into organising the international against Wales,” he said. “With the game being televised live on Sky TV it is a great disappointment for them that the match has had to be switched to Windsor Park at short notice.

“I would also like to thank Linfield for allowing the game to go ahead at Windsor Park. It is a tremendous privilege for a schools' international to be played at the national stadium and we know that this will be a very special occasion for the players and supporters.

The Northern Ireland Schools FA is offering free admission to any school or youth group wishing to attend the game.

The game is being televised live on Sky TV and all spectators will be placed in the lower deck of the north stand.

Anyone wishing to bring a school or youth group should contact the NISFA Honorary Treasurer by email at [email protected] to request a group permit.
