In an extraordinary rant, Brolly singled out Sean Cavanagh for hauling down Conor McManus as he bore down on the Tyrone goal.

“I cannot believe someone gave him the man of the match.

“Sean Cavanagh who is a brilliant footballer, but you can forget about Sean Cavanagh as a far he is a man,” he blasted, as his fellow RTE pundits Pat Spillane and Colm O’Rourke appealed for him to calm down.

He also asked why manager Mickey Harte should “jump around celebrating” at the end of the game.

“They achieved something absolutely rotten.

“Euphemism for cheating,” he went on. “That’s an absolute disgrace.”

“Let them play rugby league.”

Tyrone won the match 0-14 to Monaghan’s 0-12.

Martin Penrose was sent off before the start of the second period arising from a scuffle at the end of the first half.

Monaghan’s Kieran Hughes was dismissed on 48 minutes but they levelled at 0-9 to 0-9 and 0-12 to 0-12 before Tyrone hit the decisive closing points.

Sean Cavanagh who was yellow carded for his cynical tackle on McManus scored five points in another impressive performance.
