The Guinness Carrick Sevens kicked off on Friday with the Samurai Sportswear Under-19s competition.

The Bowl was won by Belfast Met who overwhelmed Carrick in the final, while the Plate went to Queen’s who beat Bangor 45 - 19. The main Cup competition was won by the IRFU President’s Select team who beat Edinburgh College 26-10. Player of the Tournament was Greg O’Shea from the President’s Select team.

Saturday’s Quigg Golden Open competition saw Edinburgh College defeat Wigtonshire 52-14 to win the Bowl, while Blue Flag Heroes won the Plate, overcoming Bromigos 52-15.

Ulster Exiles edged out Newcastle Exiles 24-21 to take the prize money and the Holmes Salver. The Player of the Tournament was Epi Rapu of Newcastle Exiles.

On Sunday the Ladies’ Development sides competition was won by Ballynahinch, while in the main ladies’ competition the Bowl went to Belfast Harlequins who defeated Carrick 17-5. English side Novos Panthers beat City of Derry by 17-12 in the Plate final. The main competition for the Forever Living Products Cup was won by Queen’s, defeating Cooke 24-21 in a hard-fought final. Eliza Downey (Cooke) was named Player of the Tournament prize.

In the men’s Manvik Qualifying Competion, the Bowl was won by Academy and the Simms Salver went to Larne. The Price Cup was won by CIYMS who outscored Bangor 40-22. James Henley (Bangor) was Player of the Tournament.
