Villa hit double against Floyd's

VILLA Swifts showed their quality in the Coleraine and District Darts League last week with an emphatice 8-0 win over Floyd's B.

GG McKay (2x140,120,100,19darts) got the Swifts started and was followed by G Dallas (180,3x100,20darts), B Moffat, C Scott (2x140,100) and D Moffat (100,138) putting the Swifts 5-0 up to secure the points.

D Glenn (2x100,180,123) quickly made it 6-0 finishing legs in 16 and 20 darts before B Kennedy and D Toner (3x100) completed the win. Best for Floyd’s were A Mulholland (2x100), S Collins (125,100), D Collins (140) and R Riley (121,117).

Villa A made it a double over Floyd’s winning 6-2 at home to Floyd’s A. D Kennedy Jnr (121) won the first game for Villa before T Thompson(140, 180, 20darts) got the better of D Morrow (4x100,125) to level the game.

A McBride (123) then put the visitors into the lead before M Barr (140,130,135) beat B McLaughlin (3x100,121) to level the game once more. J McGarry and F Kelly (121,100,133) then won their games to put the Villa 4-2 up and K Gibson (100) beat A Allen (3x100) to secure the win. P Moffit won the final game to give Villa a 6-2 win.

Bertha’s must be wandering how they didn’t get a point against Railway Arms especially after C Kennedy (134,140) and R Elliott (2x100,123,140,19darts) beat V Phillips (3x100) and E Phair (134) to give the hosts a 2-0 lead.

Railway Arms came back though with C Quinn (2x100) and A Owens (2x100,125) winning against O McLaughlin (100) and D Hyndman(100,125) to level the game. K Scanlon (100) beat J Glenn (135,100) and C Platt (100,140) saw off E Guyler (100) to put the visitors into a 4-2 lead before J Owens (137,125,2x100) got the better of W Kane (140,108,5x100) to take the win.

I Sinclair (100) beat R Parks (2x100,125) in the final game.

FinnMcCool’s showed here that their young players continue to improve as they beat Temple 7-1 G Keys (2x100,125) and S Greer(140,100) gave them a 2-0 lead. R Patton beat N Moore (2x100) to make it 3-0 before J Elliott (3x100,19darts) and R McKeown(140,100,121) beat G Maguire (100) and M Morrow (2x100) to secure the points.

R McMullan (2x100) beat P Dougherty (100) before R Friel (140,2x100,121) overcame C Greer (100,140) for the Temple. J McGowan won the final game for the hosts to seal a 7-1 win for Finns.

Kelly’s Inn made it two wins out of two with a 6-2 win at home to Tavern. B Quinn (100) got the home team going followed by J McNeill(100,180,121) beating R McCartney (4x100), M Quinn (121,125) and S Mullan gave the hosts a 4-0 lead before E Montgomery (2x100) made it 5-0 to give Kelly’s the points.

J Lee (100) pulled one back for the visitors before A Hayter (2x100,121) made it 6-1. M McMullan beat G Scott (2x100) in the final game for the Tavern.

The Sperrin and Coleraine RBL went in to their game both looking for their first points and in the end either side could have taken all the points. K Dickson gave Sperrin the lead before B McLaughlin (140,2x100) quickly levelled the score with 16 and 20 dart legs.

H Stirling (100) beat B Robertson (106,2x100) and P McKay (125) beat N McVey (2x100) to put the Legion 3-1 up.

S Scott pulled one back for Sperrin before J Kane (2x100) beat J Kirgan (120) to make it 4-2.

W Robertson (140,100) and E Eardley (140,100) won the final two games to give both teams a share of the points.
