Vital shots secure deserved victory for St Pat's

AFTER trailing by eleven shots in the first half of the Lisburn Zone Second Division League the two Aghallon rinks under skips Marie Corey and Eamon Hamill made a great second half rally to secure the vital winning shots to score a well deserved 20 shot victory over the Lisburn team.

On matt one Aghagallon skip Genny Little, Una Corey, Molly McBarron and Freddie Russell found themselves 6-0 behind after the first three ends but they managed to gain a total of eight shots to reduce the Lisburn winning margin to 10-8 with only two ends remaining.

The Lisburn rink under skip M Campbell finally clinched their 13-8 victory with the last three winning shots.

On mat two Aghagallon skip Bobby Walsh, Geraldine Tallon, John Connolly and Ann Tallon were level pegging 3-3 after the first six tightly fought ends. The Lisburn rink under skip B.Smith took complete control of the last three ends to get a total of six shots to win 9-3 and also give their team a 11 shot overall lead at the interval.

In the second half on Mat three Aghagallon skip Marie Corey, Seamus Hannon, Joe Lavery and Martha Fitzpatrick just held a 4-3 lead after the first three ends but they completey dominated the last six ends, to secure a total of 22 shots against a despondent Lisburn rink under skip J.Spence to make sure of the bonus three league points with their runaway victory by 26-3

On mat four Aghagallon skip Eamon Hamill, Brain Brown, Rita Hamill and Shane Russell made a great unbeaton run of six ends to open with a 9-0 lead. The Lisburn rink under skip W Spence could only reply with two single shots as the Aghagallon foursome were more than contented to finish with their 10-2 victory for another league point.
