Annadale had beaten the Glade girls 4-1 in a Cup match last season so this was always going to be an interesting encounter.

Mossley piled on the early pressure and only some excellent goalkeeping prevented them from scoring on several occasions.

Undeterred, Mossley upped the ante and just before half time Watson slammed one past the keeper.

Annadale fought back but the home side kept the passes sharp and accurate, keeping their defence on the back foot.

Half-way through this second period Wallace doubled Mossley’s advantage when she hammered the ball into the back of the net.

Annadale’s in-form goalkeeper kept Mossley out until the dying embers of the game when the relentless pressure paid off with a third goal courrtesy of Wallace.

Mossley Ladies’ Thirds defeated Ballynahinch II at UUJ, with the game getting off to a slow start in the poor conditions.

The Glade Girls took a while to settle, and the visitors capitalised to go one up early on. The local side finally got into their stride and pulled one back just before the half-time whistle.

Excellent work from Zoe Hunter and Mandy Axon forced the ‘Hinch defence to concede several short corners with both Axon and Ellen Fletcher stretching Mossley’s tally to 3-1.
