We are the champions

THE hockey girls at Waringstown Primary School are the best in Northern Ireland after they were recently crowned champions.

After securing the Mid-Ulster trophy the girls travelled to Lisnagarvey Hockey Club for the Northern Ireland Championships where they defeated Victoria, Ballyholme, Cookstown, Ben Madigan, Carryduff, Dromore and Spires to reach the final.

In a very exciting final Waringstown defeated Fairview 2-0.

Waringstown Primary principal Mr Gary Kennedy and coaches Mrs Audrey McCollum and Mrs Jenny McElhinney are proud of the commitment and skill shown by the team this season.

The team includes: Lauren Armstrong (captain), Rebecca Spence, Sarah Sandford, Lauren Lyttle, Lydia McNeill, Jessica Rae, Emma Lamont and Alex Gardiner.
