We could have scored more

Manager's View v Portstewart

WE got off to a good start and were leading 3-0 at half-time so that was game over really.

We let them into it a wee bit and let them play in the second half but these things happen. They threw caution to the wind, going 4-4-2 after having started 4-5-1 and they passed it about a bit better.

We ran up another few goals anyway and we were disappointed not to get a few more but that’s the way it goes. A win’s a win on the day and it’s all about qualifying for the next stage.

Sammy Stewart had a good game and did very well, as did others as well. It was a close call for man of the match but Sammy probably just edged it. He missed a sitter in the first half but he certainly made up for it in the second. He ran the show and scored a good goal as well.

Mark Miskimmin weighed in with a couple of good goals as well so there’s a good chance some of the lads who came in will hold their places. Mark Haughey wasn’t asked too many questions at centre-back but I thought he had a sound game.
