'Wee' Bannsiders share the spoils in league opener

COLERAINE FC Academy 1998`s played their last pre season friendly against Institute at the weekend ahead of this week's National League opener against Magherafelt Sky Blues.

The Wee Bannsiders though found themselevs two down with only 20 minutes gone.

Coleraine began to find their feet and both Curtis Rodgers and Michael Ireland were denied by the ‘Stute keeper.

The Bannsiders got their rewards soon after though as Lewis Ritchie and Curtis Rodgers combined to set up Ireland for a goal on 25 minutes.

Coleraine chaged things round at the break and took the game to Stute straight from the kick off with the visiting keeper having to be at his best to keep Stute in front.

He could do nothing about Ridgers’ equaliser though as he found space in the box and finished weel to level things up.

The young striker though could have won the game for Coleraine in the closing stages but he spurned two opportunities.
