Weekend qualifier held at Brown Trout

THE weekend competition was a qualifier with the top three players forming the team to represent the Club at the Classic Nines Regional Final to be played at Temple Golf and Country Club in Co. Down on Friday 18 June.

Played off handicap. Robert Orr (8) top scored with 37 points.

With only 16 points after nine it was over the second nine he come good with a one over par, yielding a further 21 points. After a birdie at the 10th.

Robert recorded six more pars with concessions at the 14th and 17th holes.

Just one point back in second place Colin McConaghie (13) scored 18 points each nine despite failing to score at the 7th and 10th holes! The highlight of Colin’s round was a birdie at the difficult 16th hole.

Making up the third member of the team Chris Dempsey (13) got off to a great start by birding the 1st and 4th holes finishing the first nine with 18 points.

Starting the back nine without scoring at the 10th.

Chris recovered with 17 points just edging out Tommy McGowan (8) on countback over the last six holes with Tommy also returning nines of 18 and 17.
