We're doing our best to get it right

I'M very, very disappointed with the result and overall I'm probably disappointed with the performance as well. We didn't win the game so it's a bad day at the office.

It was a terrible time to give the first goal away. We lost possession in the middle of the park and then a good ball was put through to Andy Graham who duly stuck it in the net.

There’s not much point in running beside people and not putting the foot in which is what I think we’re doing as well. That’s what happened for the second goal when we backed off, gave the lad a bit of space for him to lift his head and stick it away.

We had our fair share of chances and after we equalised, there was only one team in it for 20 minutes. We didn’t capitalise on that though and had we taken one of the two or three really good goal-scoring opportunities I think we would have won the game 3-1 but it wasn’t to be. They got back into it again and the young lad came off the bench and scored a great goal.

After coming off a good workman-like performance against Linfield we should have been able to capitalise on it.

We certainly missed Trevor Molloy and his sending off last Tuesday night probably cost us dearly on Friday. He probably would have been the difference between the two teams.

When I look at the whole scene from Friday night, I don’t come away with any outstanding performers and nobody really dominated the game. There were no really bad performers either; everyone was just sort of middle of the road.

Stuart King was probably our best player on the night. He won his headers and tackles and got crosses into the box. Willo McDonagh was solid again as well. We had a yarn with Mark Miskimmin to start working harder and he did that on Friday night.

Andy Plummer got a yellow card and the ball did hit him on the hand and maybe he was outside his box. We had a throw in and then somebody passed it back to the keeper and next thing you know it’s a free-kick on your 18-yard line. What’s that all about, I’m asking as well. People are passing the buck and letting somebody else do it.

We had a good crowd up and it was frustrating for them as well. They’re very loyal and I want to assure them that we’re doing our best and working our socks off to get it right for them.
