West Down men lose in semi final

WEST Down had near neighbours Armagh playing last Saturday in the semi-final of the men's Inter-zone competition.

The locals were defeated by nine shots by the better team on the day. Scores were as follows:

D Hamilton 7-7 D McDonald; A Johnston 8-11 A Leckie; L Murray 5-8 A Roberts; DJ Wilson 6-11 A Hughes; R Martin 11-8 M Trainor; J Wilson 6-7 J Beattie. Final score: West Down 43-52 Armagh.

The venue for the final of West Down Ladies Inter-zone plate has been confirmed and will be played in St Anne’s Church Hall, Dungannon on Saturday February 13 against Mid Ulster. The team will be published next week.

A reminder to all secretaries that the closing date for entries for the Zone Championships is on Saturday 30 January to be incorporated with the Friendship Cup to be played forthwith.
