Wet conditions test Junior Stock drivers

Friday’s meeting at Aghadowey Stock Car Stadium featured the Junior Stocks Challenge Cup which was sponsored by Roger Glass.

This meeting was also the first time the drivers had to contend with very wet driving conditions. The meeting was kindly sponsored by Bridge Van Ltd, New & Used Van Parts, Maghera, Telephone 028 79644880

Junior Stocks Challenge Cup - Andrew Gamble was the winner of this cup as he accumulated the most points over the three races.

Junior Stocks – In the Final Andrew Gamble took first place with Morgan Douglas second and Mark Graham third.

1600 Lightning Rods – Jerome Doherty finished in first place with Stephen Boyd second and Robert McIlroy third.

2L Sierras - Coleraine driver Ronnie White picked up the winner’s trophy with Freddy Laffin second closely followed by his brother Gary Laffin in third place.

Open Hot Rod – Walter Nevin crossed the finishing line ahead of his nephew Jaye Nevin and brother Paul Nevin.

1600 Bangers –William McFaul Jnr finished in pole position with William McFaul second and Trevor McFaul third.

A Practice day is being held on Saturday 10 September from 1pm – 5pm. This is open to any drivers and will be the last practice day before the Irish Championships in October.

Our next meeting will be held on Saturday 24 September. Racing starts at 1.00pm. All formulas will be racing and the meeting ends with a Winner takes All Destruction Derby.
