West Down Wheelers have brought the curtain down on another successful summer season.

2015 Hillclimb Champion

Mark Alexander is the new West Down Wheelers Hillclimb Champion. Mark has been in form of his life this year and to finish off with this win just shows what a tough nut he is. Mark is also the 2015 Aussie / Pursuit Champion.

Matt McKinstry is the Wheelers’ new Road Race Champion. Matt has had his best year so far not only winning the Road Race series but getting moved up into the A3s along with new kid on the block Dave Frizzel.

2015 West Down Wheelers Club Champion

Paul Wilkinson is the 2015 Club Champion. Paul is the most consistent rider in the club and a superb example of what total commitment to training can get you. Paul could go on to set a new club record for most club Championships won.

Saturday Club Runs

The Saturday Club runs have resumed leaving Tescos at 9, weather permitting. Last Saturday there were seven riders out with all getting around 60 miles.

Club Clothing

Any rider who couldn’t make this week’s meeting in the Albert, please note if you need winter gear or even racing gear for next year then you need to let Paul (Wilkie) know before it’s to late. All trophies to be returned to Matt as soon as possible.

The 52 mile Autumn Soup Run, starting and finishing in Katesbridge Hall, will leave at 9am with 99% left turns via Castlewellan, Newcastle, Clough, Seaforde, Ballinahinch, Annahilt, Kinnallen, Gallbog, Gibsons Quarry, Corbett.
