Club Chairman Billy Maxwell, who has organized the dinner for years, said this will be his last as he wants to take a back seat from now on. So its a big thank you to Billy for doing it and no doubt the will miss his craic as he does his usual summing up of the riders but we hope he will still play some part in the prize giving.

Davy Cartmill’s slide show should be the highlight of the night with the club photographer Geoff Toal helping Davy this year as he has some class photos.

Billy says this will be the biggest turnout for years - there are 55 people going at the minute and that’s with some missing as well,

The club has come on this year with some very good prospects, first year riders D.Lyness, A.McCourt, N.Seffen, M.McKinstry, B.Hanna and one man who could be up there with the best if he put his mind to it K.Wells.

These riders with the rest of very good riders in the club can move the club up a gear, most of these guys will take part in open racing next year, in fact all of them but Neil, for the first time so things looking up for the Wheelers.

But every rider has his part to play. Riders are reminded that club runs are well under way with Saturday runs three to four hours of a steady brisk pace which are well attended but theres room for more.

The club hopes that after the prizegiving that more will plan to join the runs before the pace steps up.

The Wheelers hope all and not just prize winners are looking forward to Friday night. Compere for the night will be C.Adamson so there will yet again be some red faces. All in all it will be a good night’s craic,

Marian Lamb said last year its by far the funniest dinner they go to and would never turn down an invite as they really look forward to it.so well done to all prize winners and all the Wheelers.
