Whitehead suffer league defeat to Divis, while Mossley win

Whitehead suffered their first defeat of the season losing 72-57 shots at home to Divis on Saturday in NIBA Division 1.

The Whites picked up just one point in the enounter, meaning they trail leaders Banbridge in the league table. They host neighbours Larne from the Private Greens League in Saturday’s Irish Senior Cup second-round clash.

In NIBA Division 2 there were defeats for Whitehead ‘B’ away to Dungannon and Carrick at Lurgan. Newtownabbey took two points away from Londonderry Park edging it 80-74 on shots.

In Division 3, Larne-based Curran Bowling Club defeated rivals Carrick ‘B’ by 94 shots to 58, to claim a valuable four points.

Private Greens League

Senior Division 2 side Mossley eased to a six points to one win at home to Ards (83-48). The Glademen take on Falls in round two of the PGL Senior Cup on Thursday (6:30 pm) before welcoming Comber in the league on Saturday.

In Junior Division 1, Mossley Seconds’ match away to Dunbarton was postponed.
