Whites can survive says Wright

TEAM of the moment Lisburn Distillery return to home duty on Saturday when they take on Crusaders at New Grosvenor.

After three fantastic away wins on the trot the Whites are clawing at the coat tails of Institute and manager Tommy Wright believes Distillery can survive the drop.

"I was confident from the day I took over we could overhaul Institute and I still feel the same way," says Wright.

"The last three performances show what this team can achieve. They have come through a lot this season and taken a lot of knocks but suddenly you see what confidence can do to a squad.

"Last Saturday was a huge result at Institute and just like Tuesday night at Portadown we did not give up when we conceded a goal. Crusaders are in form again and trying to finish as high as possible, but we have beaten teams who have been in form so there is no reason why we cannot keep this run going.

"I would be happy with four points from the next two games and then we can see what we need to do when the split comes. I have told the players it is far from over, they have battled back to earn something to fight for and that is very encouraging."

After Crusaders on Saturday the Whites host Newry City, now under new boss Gerry Flynn, on Tuesday night.

Meanwhile a winding-up petition against Lisburn Distillery Football Club was dismissed at the High Court in Belfast on Thursday.

The club's future had been in doubt over an unpaid rates bill of 65,000.

As part of efforts to resolve its financial affairs, Distillery has already entered into a CVA (Company Voluntary Arrangement) in which the club will bid to pay off it's debt by selling the ground which is now offically up for sale.
