Whites savour cup victory

LISBURN Distillery ended a barren 17 years without a major trophy when they defeated Portadown 2-1 to clinch the Co-operative Insurance Cup at Mourneview Park on Saturday.

Goals from Scott Davidson and David Cushley turned the game around after the Whites trailed 1-0 at the break.

The final whistle brought scenes of wild celebration for the players and Distillery fans. It was a day of many stories - Glenn Ferguson playing in his last ever final, Tommy Wright in his first ever cup final and two great goals from both subs who came on after the break.
