Wilkie fastest again in Weir Trophy

LAST Tuesday night the West Down Wheelers held the first round of the circuit TT on the very tough Academy, Gilford, Scarva circuit.

This was for the Weir Trophy and the first of the handicaps. The winner on the night with a time of 26.27 was once again Paul Wilkinson. He is in super form at the moment.

In second place was the old warhorse himself, Clive ‘Bunty’ Adamson. He had a very good 28.50 and boy was he pleased - he has got a new lease of life.

Third was Mark Alexander with a time of 29.11 He too has got a new lease of life and its good to see. Fourth place went to another man hitting good form, Jonny Kernaghan. His time of 29.14 was some improvement for him.

Club Chairman Billy Maxwell says its good to see the riders doing so well and to watch out for Ian Walker, Keith Dawson and one or two of three other new riders once they

get in the swing of things.

Club President and timekeeper Derek Gamble says, “I’m kept at it now as the club is growing but its good to see.”
