Glebe Rangers entertained Moyola Park who were keen to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat at the hands of Portstewart.

Both sides were keen to get off to a good start and the game started with a high tempo with some feisty challenges. Glebe`screated a number of few half chances and the lively McDowell produced a great save from Farniok in the Moyola Park goals on 29 minutes. A half chance fell to Taggart on 31 minutes but his tame shot was easily saved by the Glebe goalkeeper to ensure at half time the score remained scoreless.

Moyola almost drew level in the 59th minute when a headed flick from McIllhattan found Jason Paul and his effort came back off the post with Moore beaten. Glebe almost doubled their lead on 75 minutes but McDowell just shot wide. A minute later Moyola Park found themselves level when the ball was met by the head of Jason Paul headed the ball beyond Moore in the Glebe goals.

On 83 minutes Gregg was put through and he calmly finished to give Moyola Park a 2 -1 lead. Then on 87 minutes a cross from Magill`s free kick found the head of Daniel McIllhattan at the back post and the midfielder sealed the points for Moyola Park to make it 3 – 1.

Glebe boss Jason Wilmont was furious to drop the points, frustrated at silly mistakes which gave Moyola the opening back into the game.

“We were the better team without a doubt and it was stupid mistakes which cost us the points. I don’t mind being beaten 3-1 if the other side played the better football but we had the chances and were better by far and that’s what makes it so much harder to take. Three goals in 10 minutes is just beyond a joke and I just don’t know where to turn. You work so hard every Tuesday and Thursday and then to give goals away like that just knocks the heart out of you. We don’t have a game next week so we will have to take a long hard look at things.”
