The Coleraine side stepped in at the last minute to give the Ballymoney men a game after Ballymena Reserves pulled out last minute. It was a good opener for the Glebe side, boosted with ten new signings including captain Willie Beckett and the squad showed the additional training over the past weeks had paid off. Manager Jason Wilmont was pleased with the way his squad is shaping up. “The lads played really high intensity football and everyone looked very sharp. To be honest I didn’t think they would keep it up for the full 90 minutes but they did so they additional training we did has certainly paid off and I think the lads know it themselves. It was good to get off to a good start.”

Wilmont and his management team have been working hard since the last season ended and have already added ten new signings to the squad.

Danny Brown, Mark Dickson, Jonny Spence, Jason McLay, Jamie Hanna, Aaron Wilkinson, Ricky Dunlop, Peter Whyte and Jordon Dunlop all join Willie Beckett who will captain Glebe this season. However, Wilmont isn’t finished with his player shopping spree just yet. “I’m looking for a couple more players as well as a keeper but I’m talking to a few guys this week and I hope to get someone over the line very soon.”

Glebe Rangers play Bushmills on Friday 10th at 7pm.
