Wilson contributes a vital goal for Moneyslane Reserves

The home side got off to the best start possible when their top goalscorer Gareth Wilson took his tally into double figures for the season in the second minute with a well taken headed goal.

Slane were cruising and looked comfortable but the game was turned on its head when the Wood wingers dinked inside his market and whipped in a dangerous cross that was tapped into the net.

The visitors took the lead when a long ball was not dealt with properabley by the Slane defence and the striker found the back of the net.

Wilson missed the chance pull Slane level when his spot kick was brilliantly saved.

Slane battled hard and were rewarded for their persistent pressure when Wilson found Hamilton and he obliged with a well taken goal to draw the sides level

The locals came out for the second half playing at a high tempo; Hanna, Cromie, Hamilton a Jardine were solid protecting Strain in the Slane goals.

Adair put Slane in the lead with a wonder strike from a free kick that he curled into the top corner of the net.

Then Wilson rounded two players and slipped the ball to Anderson who evaded the first tackle, skipped over a second challenge a dinked around a third lunge before coolly finishing off a great individual goal to put the game to bed.

Overall a great three points for the Reserves and a good build up to the big away game this weekend away to Donacloney in Round Two of the Mid-Ulster Cup.
