Wilson set to joinArmagh Minors

St. Peter’s clubman and St. Michael’s Grammar School teacher David Wilson looks set to join the Armagh Minors management team.

It is expected the four strong team will be headed by All Ireland winning medallist Aidan O’Rourke who will be assisted by his brother Martin and Paul McGrane.

David Wilson had been with the Armagh squad when Brian McAlinden was in charge in the period before the County won the All Ireland back in 2002. The Lurgan man has been one of St. Peter’s best players over the past two decades lining out in various attacking roles for the Whites. Supporters from the Lurgan area would welcome David’s pending appointment to the Armagh Minors set-up considering his vast knowledge of youth football in the area which he acquired in his role as a coach with St. Michael’s.

Armagh Minors would be keen to get back to the same level of performance which landed them the All Ireland title back in 2009, on that occasion the side were managed by Paul McShane from Silverbridge, Pearse Ogs man Brendan Hughes and Sarsfields coach Kieran Robinson who recently took on the role of Senior team manager at Clann Éireann.

Armagh Minors are currently holding trials and would be keen to have a panel in place before the start of the 2015 league campaign.
