Wilson wins at Phoenix GP

The Wilson name has been synonymous with winning on the local cycling scene for the last few years, thanks to the efforts of East Antrim's very own multi All-Ireland cycling champion, Jack Wilson.

Reminding everyone there is no substitute for experience, Jack’s father, Gary Wilson, demonstrated he still has that devastating kick, to win the cycling season opener promoted by Phoenix CC.

The Phoenix GP saw 150 cyclists signing on for the three races on the Nutts Corner Circuit. In the A race the 1st category riders were unable to make up the 10-minute handicap and Bobby Kane (Ballymoney CC) emerged as victor from the 3rd category bunch outsprinting Paul Mulligan (Eurocycles) and Jason Henry (U/A). Donegal’s Sean Stewart (Four Masters), Gordon Scott (East Antrim) completed the top five.
