Win over Lurgan sees Garvey safe after a mixed week

It was a mixed week for Lisnagarvey in NIBA Division One.

They easily accounted for Lurgan in midweek but agonisly lost by the narrowest of margins, a quarter of a point away to Carrick on Saturday.

A three helped Neil Mulholland to a 10-7 lead at the tenth and 14-9 at 15 ends before Garvey won by four shots.

Two threes gave Martin Nelson a 13-5 lead at the tenth but he was 15-16 down at 15 ends. Garvey came back to 19-16 at 18 ends but lost by two shots.

Despite lifting four and three Ivan Craig was level 12-12 at the tenth but 16-14 up at 15 ends and Garvey got home by a shot.

Down 5-12 at the tenth and 11-14 at 15 ends Philip Cromie lost 14-21, which when the Carrick score was quartered gave the home team a 3.25 shots win

Lisnagarvey appear to be safe from the relegation zone following this 20 shots win and six points at home to Lurgan on Wednesday night.

A three and a four helped Neil Mulholland to a 13-7 lead at the tenth and a four at 15 ends gave Garvey a 22-7 lead. In a 18 ends game they won by 13 shots.

A three at the ninth gave Ivan Craig a 10-7 lead and Garvey added three to make it 21-8 at 15 ends before winning by 15 shots.

Down 7-13 at the tenth and 9-18 at 15 ends Noel Graham lost by 12 shots.cc

JIM Chapman returned to Lisnagarvey B and he was the only winner at home to Rathfriland in NIBA Division 3 when Garvey lost by 12 shots..

Two threes helped Chapman to a 13-3 lead at the tenth and 19-9 at 15 ends. Garvey added a four to win by 15 shots.

Down 4-14 at the tenth and 9-18 at 15 ends Derek Porter lost by 14 shots.

At the tenth Alton Reid was 6-16 down and 10-18 five ends later before losing by ten shots.

After lifting a three Denis Rankin was 10-8 ahead at the tenth and 16-12 at 15 ends but Garvey lost by three shots.
