Winning run continues
Lurgan under 13s continued their winning start to the season with a 54-14 victory over Portadown.
This was despite a number of squad members missing. A seesaw first half saw the home lead 21-14 through tries from Tom Lavery (2) and Ryan Armstrong, each being converted by Josh Best , with two well worked tries for their opponents in response.
In the second half, the home stretched their lead with tries from Ryan Armstrong (2), Captain Tom Lavery , Josh Richardson and Alex Burns with four conversions from out half Andrew Fisher.
This was a squad victory with notable performances from each member.
This augurs well for the league campaign which begins this Saturday with a difficult away tie at Carrick.
