Wolfhounds win as expected

THIS Neil Carlin Cup Quarter Final away to Doire Colmcille turned up the expected result and that was a comprehensive victory for an experienced Limavady Wolfhounds team over opposition who finished bottom of the bottom division last year.

With their powerful pairing of Stephen Keown and John Deighan controlling matters in the middle of the field it was pretty much one way traffic and by half time the game was over as a contest. John Deighan from the penalty spot and defender Sean Forrest got the goals while all the forwards got on target with Ruairi O'Kane and Conor Forrest getting the lions share. A pleasing win for new manager Noel McFeely but his team are not likely to get such an easy challenge again this season.

In the other quarter finals Magilligan made Doire Trasna work hard for their 0-13 to 1-7 success. Faughanvale Reserves clocked up their second successive big win this time hammering Craigbane Reserves by 2-12 to 0-1. Glack made heavy weather of a last four place just edging out Steelstown Reserves by 2-9 to 0-14.
