World Pool champions honoured by Mayor

Councillor Bill Kennedy also welcomed Nicola and Nigel Craig, from Racks Cue Sports Centre in the town, where the sport of pool locally has been greatly stimulated as a result of their efforts.

Cllr. Kennedy said he understood that this was a first for a team from Northern Ireland which made their achievement evenn more significant.

"You should be very proud not only of your personal achievement in the sport you all enjoy but also for putting Ballymoney on the map and bringing positive news to the Borough," the Mayor said.

Captain of the team Pearse Sharrath described the win as a great achievement for the seven members.
