Wright confident ahead of cup semi

Lisburn Distillery are 90 minutes away from reaching their first cup final in 17 years.

The Whites face Crusaders at New Grosvenor on Tuesday night in the semi-final of the Co-operative Insurance Cup and manager Tommy Wright believes his team can make it.

"I believe we can reach the final," said Wright. "It's a big chance for the players to reach a televised final and they have to grasp the opportunity.

"I don't think the fact we have home advantage will have a bearing on the game. Crusaders are formidable opponents, they are strong and they are direct."

On league form the odds would look to be against the Whites as they have taken just one point from the last six games.

"Our points return is poor, but I look to the performances which have been pretty good. On Saturday we were very unlucky not to get something from the visit of Glentoran. We played ever so well and ended up with nothing to show for it. But if we can produce that type of attacking football on Tuesday night I am sure we can reach the final which would mean so much to the board and fans here."

The match kicks off at 7.45pm.
