Year 8s are in fine form

Friends’ School Year 8 rugby teams have started the season in sensational fashion by scoring 130 tries in their fixtures so far.

In the first matches against Grosvenor and Royal School Dungannon, Friends’ came away with two victories. Before Halloween Dromore High scored three tries to Friends’ twenty four.
Last Saturday at RBAI, Friends’ and Dalriada played in a tournament. Playing four games each, the Friends’ C team won three with Ross Shields and Benjamin Leitch scoring a brace of tries each.
The B team won all four games scoring 23 unanswered tries with Ben Greenhill using his 6 foot 4 frame to great advantage.

The Friends’ A team put on a great performance by winning all three games over Inst Cs, Bs, Dalriada As but the game of the morning saw Friends’ A team win by two tries over their Belfast A team counterparts.

A remarkable morning was finished by the fact that the Friends’ teams scored forty seven tries and conceded only one.
Friends’ School Rugby is holding a table quiz in Lisnagarvey Sports Complex on Wednesday November 27 at 7.30pm. £5 for adults and £3 for children. All welcome.
