YMCA have no less than 14 players who currently play for Northern Ireland at Under 15, 17, 19 or Senior and one Republic of Ireland Under 19 international.

They are the most successful club in the North-West having won the NIWFA Championship in 2009, the NI Tesco Cup in 2009 and also the prestigious Umbro Galway Cup in 2007 when they defeated teams from Republic of Ireland and the USA on route to the title.

Two YM players received four year soccer scholarships this year in the USA, Avilla Bergin - Fordham University, Brooklyn, New York and Aine McKeever - Quinnipiac University, Connecticut. Quinnipiac have just qualified for the North Eastern Conference (NEC) play-off finals for the first time in several years and Aine has played a major part in their success in her first year.

YMCA will be running a Showcase match on Saturday, November 20, at the YMCA Playing Fields, Drumahoe, when no less than three USA based coaches will be in attendance to seek out more players for scolarships next year. The showcase game held last year was the catalyst for Avilla and Aine going to the US.
