Zoe, Andrea and David bag awards at Dromore CC dinner

Dromore Cycling Club handed out their end of year prizes at the club’s annual dinner earlier this month.

The evening was hosted in the town’s Café Thyme on the 5th December had was a fantastic night for all the members who went along.

They were treated to a superb three course dinner provided by the restaurant, some lovely wines supplied by one of club members Ronnie Dougan from Village Cellars in Donaghcloney and music was courtesy of the talented Davy Evans who got the crowd going for the evening with a great selection of tunes.

During the evening, the club presented a few awards.

First up was young Zoe Lindsay, who was presented with a special prize for her racing this year in the Junior Ulster Cyclo-Cross League by Club Chairman Dave Fisher and Shonagh Tommassini from the club’s Ladies Committee.

Zoe has been racing in the Cyclo Cross League every week in all weather and was the club’s sole representative in the junior section.

Andrea Cunningham picked up the club’s award for Most Improved Rider of the Year. She has been one of the club’s most dedicated cyclists, going to many sportives and events over the year and has been a great ambassador for Dromore Cycling Club everywhere she has been. She even achieved a massive 7,000 miles cycled.

The Club Treasurer David Adair picked up the award for Club Member of the Year for his dedicated commitment and never ending work for the club, which he says he is always happy to do for such a great club.

Dromore Cycling Club would like to thank Shonagh for organising a great night for all, the staff at Café Thyme for making it a memorable evening and to JR Magills for providing the shields.
