Annoying the English for a bit of craic!

A local comedy show wants to make you think again!

After a sell-out success at the world-famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival, ‘800 Years Of Annoying The English’ is coming to Banbridge for the first time to tell you the untold version of your past.

They’ll be in the E2A Community Arts Centre, Newry Street, on Friday 13th March at 8.30pm.

“Having an Irishwoman, an Englishman and an Ulster Scot in the group, we thought we should have a go at Irish history,” said co-creator Diona Doherty.

“We wanted to try and write something completely different from what’s been done before.

“We set ourselves the impossible task of trying not to offend anyone. We’ll see how that goes!”

The group has wracked up over a million Youtube views and are now looking forward to bringing their signature brand of comedy to the stage.

Having been branded the ‘saviours of NI comedy,’ expectations are high for the province-wide tour that also stops in Cookstown, Donaghmore, Muff, Belfast and Omagh.

“In the past, we’ve been in the headlines for upsetting MTV, Jedward and even the GAA, so let’s see what we can do with a calm and level headed subject like our past,” laughs Diona.
