The gig, his first post-pandemic headliner, takes place at The Pavilion Bar in Belfast on Friday October 14 and is billed as 'An Evening With Philip McCarroll', featuring special guests and a few different sets.

Apart from performing solo material, including new singles, Phil will be joined by some of his Pay*ola bandmates for a set of tunes by that band, and also by his friend Phil McKee for a collection of classic covers and curveballs.

Support will be Lisburn songwriter Duncan Campbell, returning from a wrist injury and playing his first live show in over five years. Doors open at 8.30pm and admission is only £6.

McCarroll will also release a new single on his own label on the day of the gig. 'Sleeping in the Trenches' is a warning about political tribalism, in the hoedown style! More importantly though, the song is simple, hooky and direct, melodically and lyrically. "One of the main reasons I'm releasing this tune is that my six-year-old son Rex loves it, and as a massive Kinks and Beatles fan, he knows what he's talking about!"

The follow up, to be released on Friday November 4 is 'No Longer', which he says is "a tale of love, lust, disillusion and regret...set in picturesque Co.Down countryside!"

McCarroll's catalogue, including the George Best to John Lennon mini album, is available at his Bandcamp page, Spotify and all streaming platforms, and to purchase on CD at his Big Cartel site.
