Ecuadorian pianist joined by talented daughters for recital

Acclaimed pianist, Ingrid Abad, will be travelling from Ecuador to Northern Ireland for a one off concert at Finaghy Methodist Church on Thursday, April 2.

Ingrid started her musical studies at an early age in the Federico Chopin Musical Academy then attending the Antonio Neumane National Music Conservatoire in the city of Guayaquil where she graduated as piano teacher.

She worked as a piano tutor and teacher of other theoretical complimentary subjects in the Antonio Neumane National Music Conservatoire, where she became the Deputy Head and General Auditor at a later date.

She has received several accolades and recognition for her musical and pedagogy career throughout her teaching and administrative life as her work has benefited many children, young people and adults in her country.

Her daughters, Lizzy Joy Orellana Abad, violinist, and Keila Lois Orellana Abad, clarinettist, will also be playing in the recital.

The programme will include classical pieces, Christian music and Latin-American rhythms.
