Pretty Cartel are back on the road again

Lisburn band Pretty Cartel are making a welcome return to the local music scene this year.

Their comeback comes after the band decided to take a break following the release of their successful debut album ‘Subbuteo balls & Rockstars’.

The Lisburn lads have been getting down to business again and have started work on a new EP, which is due for release this summer.

Made up of Dee McIlroy (Lead Vox), Ian Currie (Guitar And Vox), Davy Braniff (Drums), Marc Connor (Guitar), Neil Macken (Bass), Pretty Cartel have played in a number of top venues across the UK, including The Cavern Liverpool and Etihad Stadium Manchester.

Now they are ready to take to the road again and have dates lined up for March and April.

“We’re buzzing to be back in the thick of things,” said lead singer Dee. “We’ve missed it and I think the music scene and the gig goers in Lisburn and Belfast has missed us too.

“We had a busy last few years making the album at Manor Park Studios and constantly gigging so we decided to take a year out and spend time with our families for a bit. And most importantly write more new material for the follow up to ‘Subutteo balls & Rockstars’.

“The new tunes are sounding great; really, really impressive. We’ve changed producer on these new recordings and we’re doing things a bit different this time round.

“It’s all about learning your trade and finding out what suits the band best.

“We really have gained some great experience these last few years from gigging and recording, and we really have become a great live act with some mega songs now at our disposal.

“The tunes are still steeped in what Pretty Cartel is all about. Maybe a bit heavier, a bit more aggression, but still true to our style

“We’ve been very lucky from day one with the support we receive in Lisburn and Belfast. Every gig we do seems to always be well supported so we would like to thank everyone for their continued support. We hope to see you all at one of our next shows.”

The band will be playing at Ulster Hall on Saturday March 18, Modweekender in Bangor on March 31, Alexander’s Lisburn on Saturday April 15 and the Cavern Liverpool on Sunday April 30.
