Show centenary plans

AS LURGAN Show Society Ltd head towards their Centenary year event on Saturday, June 2, their Public Relations Officer John Harrison is keen to hear the memories of past exhibitors, the public, former show members and their families from over the years.

The Show Society are hoping to collate a record of stories, old show programmes, prize schedules, rosettes and prize cards. In addition, any photos from the Lurgan show in the previous decades would be appreciated. All items can be copied and returned to their respective owners.

The Society are also appealing for the return of any cups and trophies that past exhibitors may have had for some time.

With plans progressing for the Centenary year event, there is much hope that such collected resources can be used for a variety of purposes to celebrate such a significant milestone in Lurgan’s history.

So remember to keep Saturday, June 2, as a date in your diary.
