5. Ron Mueck, The Mac ,10 Exchange Street West - until Sunday, November 20
This powerful exhibition by artist Ron Mueck is his first in Ireland and takes place in all three galleries at The Mac. Ron Mueck, who originally started his career in film before transcending into fine art, creates unique sculpted figures reflecting the human experience and feelings of loss, vulnerability and compassion using the traditional elements: pose, gesture, facial expression, scale and realism. 6. New Exits- 10 Years of Painting, The Mac, The Mac, 10 Exchange Street West - December 9 - March 23, 2023
Marking the end of its 10th anniversary, The Mac will present New Exits which will highlight the impressive works of BA and Fine Art graduates courses at Belfast School of Art from 2012 with pieces influenced by Thomas Lawson’s Last Exit: Painting 1981 artforum essay. 7. Belfast Bradley Art Experience, Victoria Square Shopping Centre - until Friday, December 30
Terry Bradley is a well-established, international artist who was born in Belfast and grew up in the time of The Troubles. He is predominantly known for the large wall mural at the Titanic buildings Hickson’s Point, Lanark Way Peace Wall and his work inspired by his childhood. Recently, Terry Bradley featured in Kenneth Branagh’s film Belfast with a recreation of Docker’s Rest, a painting which reflects the experience of nine docker workers, the artwork was recoloured blue and positioned on a wall instead of a building. Likewise in this exhibition, the artwork is based on real characters, resilient men and women who have been through the unimaginable and are still standing. Experienced staff members at Terry Bradley Art will give insight into Terry's life reflecting the stories and characters behind his pieces ‘Never Give Up’, ‘The Kiss’, ‘Sailortown’, ‘The Belfast Dockers’ and ‘Titanic’.
