9. The Black Box - 18-22 Hill Street
The Black Box is a vibrant creative art space located on Hill Street, established in 2006 as an alternative fringe-style theatre space but now being one of the leading lights of Belfast’s arts and entertainment sector for the past two decades. It works across all forms of art such as music, live art, theatre, film, comedy and talks and are open from Tuesday to Sunday. Established in 1993, Catalyst Arts is a voluntary artist-led organisation that has a long history at the forefront of the arts scene in Belfast. It is based on collaboration and community with a strong emphasis on promoting and supporting the arts in Belfast and beyond, having created a community of thousands of artists. This ground floor gallery space has an ad-hoc programme of exhibitions from both individual artists and arts organisations. Craft NI is the sector-lead body for the promotion and development of the design-led contemporary craft industry in Northern Ireland.
