Having been built in and ultimately setting sail for the first time from the city, Belfast honours the Titanic in a variety of different ways, from museums to the original site it was launched from.
Here are six places in Northern Ireland to find more about the Titanic and its links with this part of the world.
5. Ulster Transport Museum - Holywood, Co Down
The Ulster Transport Museum has a permanent exhibition dedicated to the Titanic, known as Titanica, where the construction of the ship and its sister ships the Olympic and Britannic is examined in great detail. There are a handful of artefacts on show alongside information-filled cards to help better explain what you’re seeing in front of you, with the whole exhibition providing a great insight into the local skills at hand when making RMS Titanic. 6. 6. Titanic Hotel - their website.jpeg
The Titanic Hotel is more than a great place to stay, with the half-hotel half-museum concept providing a great collection of over 500 artefacts, pieces of art and photos that showcase the Titanic in all of its glory. With no overnight stay, public spaces within the building include vintage posters, rare photos and preserved features from when the premises were the Harland & Wolff headquarters.
