Road closures: three for Ards and North Down drivers this week

Drivers in and around Ards and North Down will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

M56, from 9pm January 4 2022 to 6am December 29 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, junction 11 - 12 lane closures slip road and carriageway closures due to Bridge works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next seven days:

A55, from 8pm March 15 to 5am March 17, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A55 southbound, junction 40 - Lane closure Switching for Electrical works.

A55, from 9pm March 16 to 5am March 17, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A55 northbound, junction 39 to junction 39 - carriageway closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
