Lisburn and Castlereagh road closures: six for motorists to avoid this week

And three of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

A55, from 8.30pm March 12 to 5am March 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A55 northbound, jct 38 to jct 39 - Lane closure for barriers - Permanent.

A483, from 8pm February 14 to 6am March 15, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A483 northbound and southbound, between Wales and Belgrave lane closures and carriageway closures due to carriageway repairs.

And a further four closures will begin over the next seven days:

M53, from 9pm March 14 to 5am April 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M53 northbound, junction 11 - M56, junction 14 carriageway closure due to drainage works.

M56, from 8pm March 15 to 6am March 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M56 eastbound and westbound, J14 to J14 - Lane closure for communications.

A55, from 8pm March 18 to 5am March 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A55 eastbound, junction 38 to junction 40 - carriageway closure for Structure - maintenance.

A55, from 9pm March 27 to 5am March 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M53 northbound and southbound, junction 10 - 12 carriageway closure for Horticulture works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
