Film prosthetics, set design, digital art, dance, drama and music: The 2015 Playhouse Children and Teens Arts Festival is back!

Spaces are filling up fast for kids and teens who can’t wait for two fantastic weeks of artistic experiments at The Playhouse from Monday 20 - Friday 31 July!

With a fun filled theme of The Art of Science, the theatre, sponsored by Partridge Peartree Promotions, has lined up a full creative laboratory of illustrators, dancers, graphic designers, set designers, musical theatre directors and visual artists for the 2015 Playhouse Children and Teens Arts Festival!

The longest running festival of its kind in Northern Ireland, the festival has also announced its first ever teen drama intensive week for 13- 16 year olds with actress, director, producer and circus performer Nicky Harley.

Facilitators planning the experiments are graphic designer and illustrator Joe Barwise, early years/preschool music and movement facilitator, Bernie Doherty, arts facilitator Kirstin McLaughlin of Kid Art & the Craft Box, Artist & illustrator Sean Keddy, set designer Phil Ruddock, Photographer and filmmaker Denzil Browne, Mary Hill School of Ballet’s Victoria Harrison, musical theatre director Ryan Quinn, and visual artist & Design Den inventor Siuan O’Doherty.

Sponsored by Partridge Peartree Promotions, scientific fun and experiments at the festival include film prosthetics, set design, digital art, dance, drama and music. The festival is divided into three age categories; from 4-6 year olds, 7-12 years old and our teens - ranging from 13-16.

“We’re so excited to offer, due to popular demand, our first ever teen drama intensive week for 13- 16 year olds from Monday 27- Friday 31 July!” festival co-ordinator Jessica Caldwell said.

“We’re also delighted to have actor, director producer and circus performer Nicky Harley facilitating this exciting new theatrical venture! She has been involved in theatre from the young age of six, progressing from amateur productions to professional employment so she’s the perfect mentor to guide teens through the wonderful world of theatre!”
